Gruess Gott and Welcome to Edelweiss Last Resort

Very Late but better than never. Took me some time to finally open it up but here is our blog of our first wedding anniversary.

We are back......Nefty took some time off from the Army so we could spend some time together for our first wedding anniversary and have some relaxing time, away from the Army and the old same.

So we decided to book a Hotel room at the Edelweis Lodge and Resort in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. We were so excited. We left Friday morning for our 5 hour drive. After we finally arrived we were amazed by the surrounding of the mountains and the beauty of nature. The Hotel is in this nice little fancy town, but the happiness we felt left pretty fast after we entered the street towards the Hotel and on the entrance Ponds guards told us Welcome. So we drove this whole way to leave the Military behind but instead we just entered a new Military Post. Don't get us wrong, the Hotel was really nice (the food sucked) and the beauty of nature didn't leave us, its just you try to escape and you just cant (Military is everywhere). But nobody could have ruin our vacation, we were on a mission.

First day we spend some time in the City, spend some money on shopping and awesome good food. This got boring pretty fast so we decided to take a train ride (Alpspitzbahn) up to the Zugspitze Zugspitze). It was an experience itself. The have like 6 or 7 Lifts up to the top but since I am afraid of heights, Nefty and Me decided to take a one hour train. Amazing about the train is that you drive around 25 minutes inside the Mountain through a tunnel to get on top. It was pretty scary too but a easier way to get on top. The view from 2,962 metres (9,718 ft) is just crazy. Nefty said it was one of the most amazing things he ever did, so I am pretty happy we went up there.

Sunday was our first wedding Anniversary and we decided to spend it on the Eibsee, we rented a boat for two hours and enjoyed the nice weather. In the middle we had to conquer a little Island in the middle of the lake because Mrs. Hernandez had to go number 1 really bad. In the evening we went out for dinner and had some drinks at the Hotel Bar before we went to bed.

Monday we had our first Massage, I loved it, Nefty didnt like it too much. But it was worth it, I was so relaxed after it. After we checked out we decided to drive to some castles in the Bavarian area.

We went to the Linderhof Palace one of three Castles of King Ludwig II.. Its a beautiful little Castle and you can tell that this guy had to be nuts. I just recommend for everybody to go there. After that we drove to his two other Castles (Neuschwahnstein and Hohenschwangau Castle). We didnt go inside of those two but even from outside they are huuuge.

Since we still had Hotel reservations in Munich we had to take off. Took us around 2 or 3 hours to drive and we both were really tired. Entering Munich was Hell and it took us forever to find the Hotel, even the Navigation System had problems to find the way. Munich is worse than Frankfurt and we decided to leave after the first night (and we never are going to go back). Nefty and me didnt wanna go all the way home yet so we said hey lets visit our friend Tatjana since it was on the way anyway. It was so good seeing her and the babybelly again. I miss her alot.

So now we are back home and the normal life has to start again.

AND ANOTHER THING!!!....
This is Nefty speaking now.   And I have to say that though this vacation has been some of the best times of my life with my wife, I learned alot about where we are as a couple.  Seeing the things that she likes, and how they could be different from the things I like.  How you learn to adapt to the other because of what they mean to you.  How life takes a different picture once you live it for someone else.  I didn't want to see any military people while I was on vacation, but all the same the surroundings were beautiful.  and above all Ivana is beautiful.  Great time being away and getting to know my wife a little bit better.  Now the next goal for us is the 5th year anniversary.  Please know one thing i have learned in life that is so important to keep relationships moving forward at all times.  GOALS.  Always have something to reach toward, or something to get to, or something to accomplish.  It will be the driving force when nothing else can do it.  So here's to a lifetime of reaching goals together.

Our Blog/Unser Blog

Hey everybody,

soon we are moving to Fort Carson, Colorado and since its a lot of work to stay in touch with everybody in person, so we thought it would be a good idea to open up a Blog. This way all of our friends and family can check up on us and see what we are doing next. Please understand that we cant write all the personal stuff in here since Nefty is in the Army and safety goes first.

We will always post the blogs in English and in German so our friends all over the world can understand.

Nefty and Ivana

Hallo Leute,
